This quote, from a chef I worked for in NYC 25 years ago, has always resonated with me and is what drove me to create a company that will bring the finest ingredients available to you, my customers.
I have found people with a love for their land and a respect for the ancient techniques, gently coaxing magic from the soil, the berry, the sea, and the fruit of the olive tree. I love searching for and finding these limited production, high quality ingredients - these hidden gems - produced by people using sustainable, fair trade practices. As with fine wine, these products are extremely limited by their nature and produced with great care and affection.
The philosophy of Fine Palate Foods is to support the producers of these wonderful products and to bring you items not otherwise available. Those great foods you found in your travels at outdoor markets, back roads or little shops in the back alleys can now be had at home, while supporting and encouraging producers practicing organic and sustainable agriculture. I hope you will not only enjoy using these fine ingredients, but enjoy supporting these hard working people as well.
